Dr Catherine Marshall

Programme Delivery Lead

BSc (Hons) MBBS MA MRCPsych

Catherine is a medically trained doctor and member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, having previously worked for 10 years in the NHS specialising as a consultant in forensic psychiatry. After completing her MA in Medical Ethics and Law, she participated in a qualitative investigation into the impact of the Equality Act upon employees disclosing mental health problems. This sparked an interest in advocating against stigma and promoting psychological flexibility in the workplace. She also worked on a project in collaboration with NHS England on determining ways to reduce restrictive practice in secure hospitals, and went on to present her research on the use of Hybrid Orders at an international level.

Throughout her career Catherine has maintained a close connection with education, and in her role as a clinical lecturer at Barts and the London school of medicine and dentistry, she gained associate fellow status with the Higher Education Academy. At the university she was instrumental in setting up a medical professionalism and wellbeing programme for medical students, and collaborated with dental students to design and deliver a national workshop integrating mental health awareness into the dental curriculum. Catherine contributes to a postgraduate lecture series on organisational psychology at Kings College London and provides training to healthcare professionals on communication skills and mentoring. She is currently completing her Coaching Diploma accreditation.

Motivated by the transformational change businesses can experience from integrating positive psychology strategies, Catherine uses her experience and scientific knowledge base to deliver engaging and thought-provoking workshops to clients across all industries, thereby equipping them to flourish at work.
