John is an Australian-trained educational and developmental psychologist who specialises in children and adolescents. He has been working as a psychologist in private practice in Hong Kong for the last ten years after completing a Masters in Applied Developmental Psychology with the University of Western Australia. During his postgraduate studies, John also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Special Education and qualified as a special education teacher. John is currently the Programme Director of Central Health Partners Child Development Team, a large inter-disciplinary therapeutic team, and the Programme Director for the Positive Group in Asia.

Having grown up in Hong Kong, John is personally familiar with the educational, cultural, and social contexts that families have to navigate. He works closely with international schools in Hong Kong and around Asia offering professional development opportunities to parents and teachers, educational consulting, crisis management, educational planning, and social-emotional planning and curriculum development. John also provides training and advice to a number of international companies to enhance resilience and emotional wellbeing.

In addition to his private work, John is an Honorary Past President of the Psychotherapy Society of Hong Kong. He provides consultation services for a local Hong Kong charity, Kids4Kids, and is also the Psychologist on the Safety Committee of Outward Bound Hong Kong. John is a Visiting Professor for the University of St. Joseph and is frequently a guest lecturer at universities in Hong Kong.
