Kindness in leadership: How important is it?

Kindness in leadership: necessary or simply 'nice to have'? We explore the psychology and the supporting evidence in this free webinar.

Watch now

This year, the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week is kindness. Kindness is something we're all familiar with, and something many of us value now more than ever. However, it's still often seen as incongruous – or even incompatible – with strong, effective leadership. Why is this?

On Tuesday 19th May, Positive psychologists Dr Brian Marien and Dr Sinéad Devine-French will be hosting a free 40-minute webinar exploring the science of kindness in leadership. They will look at how kindness links to psychological wellbeing, how the Covid-19 pandemic has shifted individuals' priorities and how kindness impacts both leaders and their teams.

Key Questions:

  • What are the common attributes of effective leaders?
  • What do we really mean by 'kindness'?
  • How has the emphasis on kindness shifted since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic?
  • What does science say about the benefits of kindness?
  • What are some of the barriers to kindness at an organisational level?
  • How does kindness contribute to 'psychologically informed leadership' and business success?
