Recharging the mind: Finding energy and focus in a changing world

How can we manage our focus and energy in a world that's always demanding more? Our experts examine the science in this free webinar.

Watch now

After more than a year of disruption, many leaders and teams are exhausted. Stress levels are soaring, burnout is on the rise and work–life boundaries are becoming increasingly blurred. With the pressure to perform arguably greater than ever, how can we recharge our minds and get back to thinking and feeling at our best?

The pandemic has had a significant impact on the way many of us work. Numerous reports have shown that lockdowns have brought an increase in working hours for professionals, with remote workers in the UK experiencing an increase of around 25%. At the same time, many people are struggling to maintain focus. Research conducted by Positive has found that 1 in 3 professionals are feeling distracted either most days or every day, and 1 in 2 are unable to switch off from work most days or every day. In a world that's growing faster and more competitive by the day, how can we take back control and apply ourselves for future success?

In this 30-minute webinar, Positive experts Dr Brian Marien, Dr Catherine Marshall and Will Marien will be exploring some of the practical ways we can manage the challenges of energy and focus as we move towards a more hybrid world of work. We will look at the science of attentional control, how we can be more disciplined with our cognitive resources and some of the factors that can derail our ability to recover after stressful periods. We will also consider the challenges facing organisations, and how leaders can navigate this transitional time whilst helping their staff to maintain both wellbeing and performance.
