Speak up

Speak up, listen up, follow up

In this session, a Positive psychologist will explore the challenges around speak-up and the importance of this to building a psychologically safe environment.

Outline

Progressive organisations understand the importance of fostering psychologically safe work environments. When employees feel empowered to speak-up about their concerns and opinions, they engage and collaborate more, boosting collective intelligence, engagement, and productivity.

Yet, encouraging speak-up behaviours doesn't happen spontaneously. It requires a responsive environment where someone actively listens to employees' ideas, needs, or concerns. Moreover, it calls for follow-up—feedback that informs employees about the progress or changes sparked by their openness.

In this talk, a Positive psychologist will explore the importance of speak-up behaviours and how to foster them in ourselves and others.
